Not sure if this a clutch problem

I have no problems changing gear. When I am at speed and I accelerate the car seems to be 'winding up' to go like the clutch is slipping before it actually catches. This is the only way I can explain it. I do know that if I feather the clutch I am able to somewhat eliminate this but, I do know this isn't normal.
I have a feeling that the clutch is on it's way out based on this but, just wanted to make sure...maybe I am wrong...which would be nice...lol.

Sounds like it, if so it would be worse in higher gears at lower speeds (higher torque situations).

What blwnAway said....

When mine started going it would only slip on the freeway in 6th. By the time I changed it months later it was slipping in every gear.

Same thing here. Although after a few days of babying it, it went away, I had already ordered the clutch and decided I was going to change it out.

It was indeed ready for a new one, hot spots on the flywheel, and pressure plate, and the fibers were a hair away from touching rivets.
