Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
Not sure if this is the issue or not (couldnt hurt either way), when starting, my car does some weird fluttering with the rpms for a bit before idle. My father then asked me when the last time Ive changed spark plugs/ coils/ wires/ fuel filter........ I've never changed the fuel filter. After reading alot of MCS articles, I couldnt find anything on the base hatchback. Are they the same filter? Same process? Has anyone done this and does anything think my start issue is an issue at all or is this just something minis doo.
Ive had my car for 6 years now, I cant remember it ever NOT doing this. It has 99,600 on it now though, and figured it wouldn't hurt to swap it for a new one.
Fuel filters are a rather easy job, but definitely tackle the job with less than a quarter tank, it makes the possibilities of fuel in the car less. Not to mention they are not "lifetime filters", as described by many..
We have the filters on hand and ready to ship, let us know if you need any help or are in need of parts.
We have a fuel filter tech article that will help you with your Cooper. It's on our site under MINI > Tech Info (tab at top) > scroll to under Fuel Injection > Fuel Filter Replacing.
