R53 Engine Rebuild- Need Help!!!

Hey guys I'm in the middle of a full internal rebuild of my w11 block. I purchased the Bentley Service Manual, and found it to be lacking the torque spec for the c
rank case or bearing ladder. It doesn't even say if the bolts are torque to yield... If anyone could provide these specs it would be a life saver!
Thank you!

Main bearing bolts M10 60nm/ 44 lbf ft m8 35nm 26 lbf ft.

I just finished my re build a bit ago and found the Bentley manual pretty much useless. The Haynes is much better.

Seriously the Haynes had that but the Bentley didnt?? So much for being the Mini Bible. Thank you man... So none of those were torque to yield then?

None torque to yield. The rod torque is 15 lbf lb, then another 90°.

I think the Bentley may be useful for diagnosing problems, but pretty useless for a rebuild.

So I actually just need the spec for the lower half of the block holding the crank and main bearings in place not the con rods my bad.

I know it’s been several years since this thread. I’m hoping I can get some insight. I’m currently working on the main crankshaft bearings. I just replaced the stock bearings with new king bearings. I need to check my clearances. The torque values I’ve found from Haynes and reading around online say M10=44ft/lbs and M8=26ft/lbs. This is confusing to me because the main journal bolts are M13 and the outer bolts are M10. (10 of each) Does anyone know what I’m referring to? Also, should any of these be replaced?

Your confusing the wrench size with the diameter of the bolt. M10/M8 refers to the bolt diameter. For my race engines I generally replace all these bolts when I rebuild...but there is no requirement to replace them. The Rod Bolts however are single use and need to be replaced

For torque specs...this is the best size I have ever found....http://wtxmc.org/MiniCooperDocs/ENGINE%20TORQUE.pdf
And for dimensions /specs...http://wtxmc.org/MiniCooperDocs/ENGINE%20TECH.pdf

I replaced the inner and outer bolts. I went to re use the outer ones and they stretched and I had one almost completely break off in the block. I looked everywhere online. ECS had them in stock. You might be able to re use the inner ones but I didn’t want to chance it.

I Actually got the same pricing at the Mini dealer believe it or not. I needed them ASAP as I'm in the middle of a build my self.
When in doubt, replace! lol
