Hey all, broke my antenna off, forgot to remove my rigid antenna before going into the car wash.
I can only find replacement antenna bases that look smaller and different than the one I currently have. For reference, I don't have navigation, but I do have the Harman Kardon system with Sirius radio. I don't have to have sirius working since I've replaced the stereo with an aftermarket radio.
R53 2005, please take a close look. Key for scale.
For posterity:
I found out this is specific to r53s with sirius from oem. The part number is possibly, 84 11 0 153 647. You cannot replace it with a standard antenna base for a couple reasons. One, the standard base has short antenna cables, the sirius base has very long ones that connect down by the amp, so you'd have to get an extension for am/fm. Secondly, i dont know if the nut is different, but once i got mine tightened all the way down, it wasnt flush with the roof, so it won't be water tight and it began to strip the threads on the base.
Long story short, buy the oem base for hundreds of dollars or be prepared to do some modifications somewhere. Smdh.
