I have a 2012 Cooper with 75k mi. I just noticed that the coolant level was below the min line by about an inch. I believe I have a slow leak somewhere that I'll have to get sorted out. My question for NAM is whether I have a warranty claim. I have intermittently smelled a sweet odor coming through the vents at highway speeds. I first reported this to my dealer in Aug 2013, 50k mi ago. They stated they could not replicate and that was that. I didn't know what it could be at the time, but now Google has helped me put the picture together? Do you think I will have any luck getting the dealer to pay for whatever repair is required given I reported an issue 3 years ago? This may be something stupid like a loose hose clamp, but I would rather they pay the labor to figure that out than me. Please note I'm kind of handy, but I have very little experience working on cars and I don't have automotive tools.

 

A problem you reported 50k miles ago? Unless you have an extended warranty, you're on your own..
