Front wheels behavior on jackstands? Need some clarification!

Hey NAMers.

During my last stage of putting my good ole' mini back on the road, I decided to tackle my light-trifecta that's been around for a few years.

After changing one of the sensor out, I decided to get a good reading with my obd2 scanner. So I put the car in gear (The car is still on jack stands btw), and realize that only the right wheel is spinning .......

Hmm.. even if its due to open differential, wouldn't both wheels spin if its in gear? (Ran thru 1-6 quickly to see..)

So I just want to clarify if its normal or is there something I should look into?

Thanks in advance.

sounds normal for an open diff. put a little resistance on the spinning wheel and the other will go.

Ah-ha!

Even in gears huh?

Well that's relieving. I will try to fiddle with the spinning wheel to see if the other one will spin.

Thanks..!
