The paint on my British racing green 2007 mini is slowly but surely failing.
The dealer claimed it was re-painted, but there is zero evidence. We broke down & got the hood re-done. Now the entire driver-side has failed.

Has anyone had similar problems? Several body shops looked at it and they all agreed it was/ is factory paint. Apparently, each piece is painted separately, by computer & it's now common not to put enough paint on the parts to last for any reasonable period of time.

As a reference.. my 2005 Subaru is exposed to even more sunlight & it's absolutely perfect. Not happy & never going to buy another Mini again if the dealership or Mini USA doesn't make it right.

 

I've done some auto painting

that looks like clear coat failure typical of a respray ... it just doesn't last as long as the original paint.

plus you are way out of warranty . . . if there was rust you might have a case but I wouldn't hold my breath on this one being covered.
