Check engine light came on but no code

I was driving up the canyon and my check engine light came on and it felt like I lost power. I pulled off of the freeway and turned it off and everything seems to be in working order but the check engine light keeps coming on after I clear it with obd code reader. Has anybody had this problem? Also I just filled my gas tank with low tier premium fuel if that has anything to do with it.

Could be bad gas, but instead of just clearing the code, it would be more helpful to read it and see what it's trying to tell you.

Are you using a generic code reader? Sometimes they wont be able to read dealer level codes. Any symptoms other than the CEL?
