Broken Electric Window

My passenger side window won't budge! Fortunately, its stuck in the 'up' position. I had windows down & sunroof open on the way to work; but during my lunch drive the passenger side is non-responsive.

It doesn't make any sort of noise. I also noticed that the door open feature (window cracks slightly when door is open) is not working either.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I call the dealer?

I had the same problem with my drivers side window on my MCS. Call the dealer and get an appointment to get the electric motor fixed. If the window dies, that's usually the cause, and if you have a "herky-jerkey" movement to the window it means you've got a bad seal that needs to be replaced. I've had both, so you're not alone. Seems to be the weak link with the windows.

Good Luck!

This definitely seems to be an issue ... I know a number of people that have suffered, and heard of more.

Temporarily, hit the door panel just below the door opening handle - preferably at the same time as actioning the window switch. This should free up the stuck motor so that you have normal movement again, for a while.
Mine (on the driver side) initially jammed about once a week, then got more and more frequent till it was daily. The motor was replaced and all is well (for now).

Well, my window funtions like normal today.

I guess I'll wait a bit to see if it happens again. I do have an oil service coming up in about 1500 miles, so maybe I'll have it checked out then.

Thanks all for your input.

I had the same problem. On again off again. Then it stopped all together.
Called the dealer and they said to bring it in without an appointment. It's a safety issue and they will fix it on demand. I have to give them two days though. Two days, no MINI. Oh well better now than during the rainy season.

I have heard that out-of-warranty fixes are about $400 per door!

I had both of mine replaced just weeks before warranty expired - Thank you Jesus!

Mine was not working for 5 days and made an appointment to get it fixed but, the day I took it in it worked again! I was like wtf. Took it in anyways and they replaced the motor and some other parts. So mini knows there is a problem with the window motor or something. You should get it fixed before your warranty runs out.
