Problem with bank of toggle switches

A problem just came up with the bank of toggle switches, and I have not been able to find it addressed through a search. The car is a 2005 MCS.

Pushing up on the toggles works correctly (windows go up, DSC light comes on, locks unlock, fog lights turn on) but pushing down results in nothing. The windows will go down when I hold the key fob unlock button and they will go up when the key is held in the lock position.

It feels like the down position of the toggles aren't making contact. Is it possible for all of them to have gotten out of position at once?

I did replace the stereo head unit yesterday, but I didn't touch the toggle switch bank.

I would guess that you have bumped the connector block on the back of the switch panel and need to re-seat it. It's not particularly robust. AFAIK the only way to do this is to take out the down-tubes and unscrew the switch panel so you can pull it out and press down the connector.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. Seeing as it's currently dark and 50 degrees outside, I think I'll wait until morning to give that a shot.

Update: when I unscrewed the toggle panel, the face plate fell off into my hands. I think I know what the problem was...

However, I went ahead and re-seated the connector on the back, re-atttached the face plate and put it all back together again. Works like a champ now...

Thanks for the advice!
