So im having a cylinder 4 missfire.
Ive done all the obvious ignition component swaps.
Coil
Plugs
Leads.
With no results.

she fires up runs beautifully. Idles normally.
Give it a good rev. Starts missing. Shut it off let it sit for 10 secs it them idles great again after a restart of course.

Ive done a compression test today. All 4 pulled 145 to 160 psi. Which im happy with. I decided to fire it up on each cylinder with the. Comp tester on it. 1 2 and 3 all get 350 psi under a good rev and cylinder 4 idles at 170 psi. Give it a rev she drops to 50 psi and stays there untill re start when it goes back to 170 again.

Im thinking a sticking hydraulic lifter or valve. Has anyone experienced this before on one of these?

 

That sounds like a bad tappet to me for sure. How many miles are on the clock? Or I suppose it's kilometers for you down on the big island?

 

OBD gives these possible causes:

Faulty spark plug or wire

Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer
