the cables inside my sunroof snapped so i cant use my sunroof, dealer wants like 3k to fix it. so i found a complete sunroof assembly that has everything fully attached and it looks like it just unbolts from the roof. has anyone done this and know how hard it is. or is it what it seems? unbolt the old and bolt the new assembly back in. this is what it looks like.

 

The Bentley Manual has some good info on page 540 for removing and installing the sunroof.

I'm only really seeing how to remove segments of the sunroof as it looks what you have is something you'd have to access via under your headliner. Here are the sunroof components:

Got some helpful info. Looks like you'll need to remove A, B, and C pillar covers and other applicable items. Then pull the headliner out of the car in order to access the mounting screws. In the manual it's page 513-19.

The panoramic roof frame comes with new cables and bolts out but you will have to drop the headliner and take all the overhead trim out. Then disconnect the motor and drain tubes. Then reinstall, make sure the motor goes in and the drain tube are connected or you will have water pool up. The gasket to the roof section can also be a little tricky. Its a bit of a job.
