Noise when cornering

Having some issues diagnosing a noise when cornering, it's rather strange. It's a 2009 Clubman with 140,000km on it (about 90,000miles I guess?).

The car sits over night in the driveway. When I start it in the morning, for about the first 5-10 minutes of driving, whenever I get into a right-hand bend, I hear a whirring noise (like "wub wub wub wub wub...") from what I think is the rear driver side wheel. Starts to occur as the body weight shifts to the wheels. Sounds almost like the wheel is rubbing on the plastic trim (no signs of wear on the trim). Noise seems to be proportional to wheel rotation speed.

The noise does not occur when turning/cornerning left. After about 5-10 minutes, the noise will no longer occur. Thought it might be brake related, but there is no drag and brakes seem to be fine. Wheel does not move if I raise the car and try to wiggle it. Spins freely.

Help would be much appreciated!

I had a similar noise last week and it was the swaybar links. Mine was on the left rear side and I only noticed the noise at slower speeds.

Thanks.

Was yours a repetitive noise? Mine also occurs only at slower speeds (then again, I don't take corners at high speed). It's not really a knocking noise, almost sounds more like a wobbling wheel or something (note: the alignment on the car is fine).

Can it be visually inspected? If I look under the car will I be able to see something worn out or anything?

If you have to crawl under there anyway, put in some nicer sways and improve the handling!

My Mini is still under warranty (45,000 miles)...so they did it at the dealer. It took about 15 minutes. I'm not sure if it's anything you can see, but the mechanic figured it out and fixed it fast.

Hmm. Usually the noises I hear when cornering are from the tires, and from the passenger's seat... :D

Car handles fine! Been driving a lot of cars over the years and this is the best I've had, especially in the snow! Not sure it needs a better sway bar....

The noises coming from my passenger seat usually tell me to stop worrying about the cornering noises...
