...and lousy spelling and syntax. Looks like a shopping list dredged up from reading a few threads.

If you're going to complain, at least give us the year, model (S or Base) and the amount of miles on the car. Also, how long have you owned the car? More info pls. Thanks.

It's S or non-S, not "base".

To the OP: So you went to all the effort of joining an enthusiasts forum, just to complain. Interesting. Can you say troll?

I've spent more money on my Mini than any other cars in my life and I don't care one bit... I love that little go kart. I've had most of the known problems with my '05, except for the expansion tank leak, since I did preventive maintenance and got an aftermarket tank.

Korean cars being better built? Oh you mean that I was dreaming when a '12 Sonata with 16k leaked all its rear shocks fluid on my bay when it only came in for an oil change? Or that you need to remove a control arm to remove the lower bolt on the rear support when doing brakes? Want me to give you my piece of mind about their retarded belts design? Bad engineering wasn't invented by Germans!!

Just so you know, I work in a Toyota dealer as a mechanic and Minis aren't that bad, but like most BMW product, if you don't wrench on your car or know a good independant shop, you'll get a new one teared up by the dealer...

Base cooper works just fine, since you know, it's a base cooper. Saying it's a non-s is like saying I have a non stick shift car.

Not really. Non-S or Cooper works. "Base" means no options. You could have a "base" Cooper S.

If a thread ever deserved being hi-jacked, this one certainly does. Y'all are doing a great job. Keep it up.

That borders on the cruel and unusual unconstitutional.
However, the OP seems to have redacted the whole point to all this. It's just not right to hoist the crowd then pop the balloon.

Not necessarily. It's ambiguous, and most people understand the term to mean "base model", i.e. the non-S.
