yeah, like the cartoons. this guy has supposedly turned a Mini into a transformer! i haven't actually seen it transform, but it's a pretty cool job he's done of creating a gargantuan robot. here's his site:

I just visited that web site- it is pretty awesome- but I'm fairly certain it's a hoax-

I watched the video clips- and was on-board until I saw the one where the robot stops a speeding car (Car Stopping: 4 November, 2002 )

I think this is a way cool concept that was realized through some pretty neato CG effects-

Man I wish it were real!

Thanks for the most important info and for adding to this post. Where were you when i was doing a search and found NOTHING for Transformer?!

Reading further, it's been posited that this could be a MINI advertisement gimick.
After all, the MINI convertible is coming out soon, right?
Could make for a cool commercial.

 

If that is CGI, there are plans i've read about for a new live-action Transformers movie. (actors w CGI robots) it's slated for the next 2-3 years... Oh yeah, original 80's cast of robots too.

Could that be the new Bumblebee? IF so, VW might be miffed.
