Clutch problems

My clutch has been fine since I bought the car, there has never been an issue until today. While driving I shifted into third and it slipped out of gear. It hasn't been slipping in any other gear such as 6-4th. I limped the car into a parking lot and it slipped in first. The clutch engages farther away from the floor than before. Anyone have any ideas as what it could be?

Sounds like you have a clutch going bad.
It might also be your main seal that's going ; leaking, either way it's a new clutch.

The only thing you can really check/diagnose before pulling the trans is the clutch hydraulics. The clutch slave is really easy to see and you should see movement as soon as the clutch pedal starts being depressed. Make sure you're getting full movement of your clutch slave. However based on your description of the problem my bet would be on something internal to the clutch assembly. Something snapped and is not allowing the pressure plate to clamp down completely?
