Charging the battery while hooked to the car

Charging the battery while hooked to the car

Is it ok to charge the battery at 2 amps while its still hooked up to the car?

yup...connect right to the battery. The systems (battery tenders) that backfeed through the 12v plug usually do not work cause the car will disconnect the plug given enough time...
2 amps is BARELY a trickle charge....

We actually installed a couple of trickle chargers that are screwed on the battery terminals in some customers cars due to the fact that they would only drive it to church and go thru a battery every year. So yeah, it's fine.

I throw mine on the under bonnet terminal every now and again, no problem.

I was wondering because I know it's not being driven far/long enough to bring the battery back to a full charge.

I was told that's not good for the battery.

+1 It states that procedure for charging the battery in the driver's manual.
