R56 Carbon buildup- permanent fix?

I had an idea for discussion. I have seen aftermarket water/meth injection kits available for Minis. In addition to the improved performance these kits offer, could they also provide a cure for the carbon buildup if loaded with cleaner (like Techron or Seafoam) instead of methanol? I have also heard rumors that even plain water is effective against carbon deposits, so even in its stock configuration (water/meth mixture), would it be effective? Just a thought...

This would be a very interesting way of cleaning the carbon off the intake valves.

Please find some experts to reply!

These videos are where I got the idea. Caution: manually spraying water into your engine as shown here is risky business. Overdo it and you'll blow your head gasket or bend a piston rod. That said, it does appear to work, and using an automatic injection system should eliminate the danger.

There have been members here (hopefully they will chime in) that have had water/meth systems installed for over 30k. They've checked their valves and still needed to walnut blast them clean. So I can say water/meth is not a cure all. However, loading the system with a detergent of sorts is interesting. I think the question now is, wether or not the detergent chemicals are safe for the meth system and how much is too much when it comes to spraying it through said system, assuming it is safe to spray through the system.

As far as I know all fuel injector cleaners that go in the gas tank contain petroleum distillates. Which would preclude them from being used in an Aquamist system due to incompatibility with the seals used.
