2013 R56 weird cold start RPM fluctuations

Hey everyone, tried searching this one out and didnt see too much that was helpful.

Its important to note this only seems to occur with the first start of my day, when the engine is cold.

The RPMS will rev to around 1400 for a solid 20 seconds before slowly settling down below 1000RPM. I have a defenders of speed intake, so the noise is quite pronounced when it sits above 1000RPM for those first seconds of the day.

I also notice, even with the car started, within the first... say 10 minutes.. it will have a few random "hiccups". I could be sitting in neutral and it will have a very abrupt rev above 1100RPM and shake for a split second and settle again.

At first I thought the problem was starting the car with the AC already on, maybe too much power for the cold engine? But notice it does do it even with AC off. Not every time, but sometimes. I do have the JB+ plugged in and might unplug to see what happens.

My friend had a similar problem. High Pressure Fuel Pump. Dealer fixed it for free in 2 hours.

Wonder if they will refuse to fix since I have DOS intake on? It's a ***** to take off in a hurry.

It's a known issue, my friend has his done the other day. He has every bolt on and a larger turbo. If it's under warranty your service advisor should want to, because he gets paid

Nope, Texas. No codes have been thrown and it doesn't do this every single start.

Check for leaks on the intake of the intake itself.

For cold climate people it was the same issues of a frozen throttle body due to very cold temp and ice build up on in the inside intake.

Thanks
