Remove the lens in tail light?

I just installed a new tail light bulb in my used 2003 Mini. While in there I wanted to clean/polish the inside of the clear tail light cover lens as mine's quite cloudy.

I couldn't figure out how to remove the lens from the assembly though without possibly doing damage so I stopped.

Any hints on how to separate the lens from the assembly?

Thanks,
EdB

Search for "Joey Mod" for help on dis-assembly. Joey Mod is painting the interior of the head or tail lights black. From what I remember, the lens is glued on and has to be heated to loosen the glue. Then you have to glue back together.

Issue with rears are the plastic is cloudy...it is NOT a surface issue...not related to dirt...but the plastic has aged...solution...different tails that are still clear...some folks had them cloud...some did not...bet it was a production issue....

Thanks for the help. Sounds like a replacement is more logical than a repair.
