Trying to figure out a potential problem with my Cooper S. About 60% of the time when I start from a stop I get a grinding sound that only lasts for a second. Also I have noticed that some times the gears are a lot harder to get into they they should be.

Now is this a sign of a failing transmission? And second if it is are there transmission upgrade options available out there for a rebuild?
