2010 HPFP issue - warranty or not?

It would seem my '10 JCW is beginning to exhibit signs of a failing HPFP - after sitting overnight, it will often stutter and cough excessively upon starting, on occasion even stalling out entirely. It also seems to have issues with throttle response the first time you really step on it, but that's an issue I've been chasing on-and-off since I bought it. I'm currently at 63k and thus out of regular warranty, but I'm not sure if it would be covered under the extended fuel pump warranty - everything I've seen in my searches seems to indicate that only '07-'09 models are covered, but they didn't change the part until the '11 refresh... Am I SOL, or has anyone with a '10 had luck getting the HPFP changed free-of-charge?

It's covered for 8-10 years I believe and/or 120k miles. There should be a service bulletin somewhere here on the forum.

And that includes 2010 models? The info I've seen only specifies '07-'09

Yes it should be because mine on my 2011 wasn't covered for a specific part but she said all 07-13 models were under warranty. She's said, I quote, "your 2011 has a very good specific part compared to the others that isn't covered under warranty." Hahah I said screw off and took it to Detroit tuned to get it repaired for $400 parts and labor included.

Good luck!

I think you will need to contact a dealer and let them check your VIN against their database to see whether the extended warranty on the HPFP applies in your case.

$400 all in isn't too bad; I was envisioning a $1k plus bill like everything seems to be on these cars. Knowing my luck (an my dealer) it won't be covered.
