R50 thru 02/02 Front Strut options

R50 thru 02/02 Front Strut options
I've been looking for few day now for a non-OE strut assembly for my Feb/02 build R50. The only option I've found is OE.
Is there another option out there? I checked Sachs, Meyle, KYB sites and all list their products as "from 03/02". Hard to believe OE is the only option.

This might seem like a drastic solution, but it's worth considering:
If you change out the associated suspension springs and mounts and end links
to the later style, then you can use the readily available later style aftermarket
struts and have a lot of good choices to pick from.
Look on realoem.com (pick a 1/02 vehicle and a 1/04 vehicle and compare the
appropriate front suspension pages) to see what all needs to be changed.
