O2 sensor problem

Hello guys I have a 2011 mini cooper S and my 02 sensor went bad. When i got it checked out the error code was P2097 which the mechanic told me it was the O2 sensor by the catalytic converter. Does anyone know where i can get the sensor for cheap. I called the dealer they said the part alone is about 300$

Don't know if you are out of warranty already. But here is the parts for the 2011+ R56 MINI Cooper S N18 engine . There is one before the Catalytic and one after the Catalytic, the code for "P2097" looks like after, post Cat.

After the P code it should say on the scan, bank 1 or bank 2. Bank 1 is the upper pre cat, bank two is the lower post cat..

#2 Oxygen Sensor Part # 11787548961 Post Cat.

Make sure if you use a tool not to use one that will damage the neck on the head of the sensor. I use one like this so you wont damage it. Its a side connect version. 3/8's ratchet extension.

Welcome. Just check and make sure which one you need via the scan. Then you will be good to go.

Thanks
