Outer Ball Joints Touching Inside Rims

Hello,

Anyone can help me what the problem is with my outer ball joints that is touching the inside of the front rims?

I replaced my front tie rods, control arm bushing, sway bar, inner and outer ball joints with approx less than 20,000km (12,430miles) on it. There are no cracks in any of the rubbers and looks like new.

I am running my stock OEM 15" rims. When I installed the rims back on the car. It touched the inside the rims. So, I had to grind down the bolts and nuts off a bit. Problem was solved and is now touching one of the front rim again.

I am surprised that the old outer ball joints did not touch rims and I do not know how much clearance it was compare to the new outer ball joints.

Any reason why it would do this?

did you use aftermarket outer ball joints when you replaced them? If so that would explain it.

Yes, aftermarket. I did a comparison to my old ball joints and the new ones. Both have the same lengths. I could not tell any different.

It turns out that the driver side front wheel bearing was worn out and caused it to touch the rim.
