Car RPM slowing drops then dies when driving?

Hi,

My car had about a quarter of a tank left before I filled the gas full in my tank. After about two minutes leaving the gas station. The car RPM slowing drops and the engine shuts down when I was driving. I could not accelerate when I was pressing on the gas pedal and the RPM was slowing dropping to zero than the car stalled.

I can star the engine while the engine is cracking, but it would not go to full power start normal.

The battery is okay, and the alternator sounds like is okay too. Cause I am getting power fully, but car will not start. There is no check engine lights. It sounds like the car is almost will start, but nope.

I had to get my car towed to my home.

Just wondering what could be the problem and what should I check?

What if it could be the alternator, fuel pump, fuel filter...etc? I hope is not a bad gas fuel after leaving the gas station.

I have replaced the battery two years ago, has new spark plugs and wires from last month.

I have the Peake R5 Scan Rest Tool. Not sure, if this will help to find any code errors?

Also, I have the Unichip aftermarket computer and had it for almost three years. I have disconnect it, but nothing is happening.

My car is a 2002 manual and has only 120,000kms (74,564 miles) on it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Update,

I tested with the R5 Scan Rest Tool. I got a code P0562 - "System voltage too low". Could be that I try to start it a few times and drained the battery. Going to put the battery on charge to see if that will make any different.

No, one know what could be the problem?

Yes, I put the right gas 91 octane in and have been to same gas station before.

If is bad gas. How do I find out if is bad gas or solve the problem?

It could be an under voltage recorded as it began to stall last week, or it could be from 2003. Clear the stored codes then see which ones reappear. It's probably your fuel pump.

Had similar symptoms in a large truck and it turned out to be a blown-out fuel injector. I believe it is something to do with the fuel or fuel system.

Fuel pump can be checked at the schrader valve on the fuel rail w/ a fuel pressure gauge. That rules out the pump fault. If alternator is gone, batt light will be on, you'd overheat & would have no power assisted steering.

Bet the ignition failed....
And you coasted to a stop....when the wheels stopped turning....the engine was no longer getting driven by the wheels....
I might check the ignition coil first...(had a Honda civic...did the same thing when the coil failed...only when it got hot)........

Sorry for the long wait.

It turns out that my gas tank had half water and ice in it that caused the pump to fail. So the owner of the gas station paid for my new pump.
