Is there a procedure for correct hood adjustment? Mine needs to be dropped with what I feel is excessive force. I have to drop it form more than halfway and my gas struts I know aren't slowing it down.

It seems to have feet that rest on the edges of a rubber gasket over the radiator, and the repeatability of the latch engagement is poor because of it.

 

You adjust the left and right lock latch mechanism at the mounting bolts. Also spray them with spray lubricant , they can gum up with road salt. Also make sure the cables are not stuck or rusted causing the latch not to engage, ( that's most of the hood not latching problems). .

Then to you can adjust the bumper to make sure the gap between the hood and bumper skin is straight and aligned. See the girls guide for the bumper removal , it shows the alignments. And if you need parts let me know.
