Xenon headlight wire damage - beware!
Xenon headlight wire damage - beware!
I have a 2004 MCS with Xenon headlights. 130K. Today I noticed a possible problem area. On the passenger side headlight the wire loom had chafed on the bonnet latch mechanism. I caught it just in time; the insulation had partially worn off but no bare wire was exposed.
Yea, post up some pics. I think the harness can be adjusted or moved so it will not chafe. Also make sure the main harness on the the passenger side on the hood support arm is not chafed, I know this was a problem in the 05+ harness that it just needed adjusted.

Thanks for the heads up. The part of the harness near the latch has plenty of clearance on my 2004 (on both sides), but perhaps it varies from car to car. No HID issues either, although I'm probably on borrowed time.
