First mini. First manual. Got a 2009 MCS with 85,000 miles on it. This car is almost as fun as my old mustang! My brothers and I learned stick on it but I don't think we beat up the clutch too hard. It has a short grind on shifts above 3000 rpm. Uncomfortable sound. Even when I mistakenly accelerate too much coming in and out of first. What am I experiencing?

Were you shifting smoothly or were you hard on the clutch?

I had to drive it gently so it would not grind but before that I can't tell you I was the smoothest shifter. I think the clutch was at its end and I put enough wear on it to give out. I'm getting a replacement put in for an incredible price. Any suggestions on the subject?
