I just had this problem happen today at autocross on two different runs. Same codes P1688 and P0107. Car has never done this before. Car went into limp mode. Shut it off, start it up and it runs fine again. I gave it the beans when I got back home just to see if it
would go into limp mode again. Nope. Pulled strong through the gears. So weird.

I have a newish fluid-filled harmonic balancer (less than 3 years old), so I don't think that's the issue. No burning rubber smell around the belt area either, so I'm thinking this isn't the issue. Throttle body is original and bypass is a Detroit Tuned installed at least 5 years ago. TMAP and MAF sensors are original AFAIK.

I'll keep you guys posted if I track down the problem.

Mine turned out to be a bad T-Map sensor...wouldn't do it every time....I finally compared the data stream of the sensor compared to the specifications in the Bentley manual...replaced the sensor and it's been running fine since.....

Would act like someone just reached over and turned the key off while running
