06 S- Strange problem!

I've got a problem that I really help someone can chime in on so I don't go crazy. I searched the forums but found nothing.

2006 Cooper S - 65k

Sometimes when I turn my turn signal on and turn it back off the turn signal light will stay on and the clicking continues and if I keep flicking I can get it to turn off few few moments later. Along with this at the same time the seat belt light will come on even though the seat belt is connected. The radio will also turn off and default back to FM if I have it on XM Radio.

Then there have been times the seat belt light will come on along with the air bag light but the air bag light will turn off. The only way to make it go away is if you turn the car off and back on. Now, today a new problem developed where the seat belt light was on and then all of the dash lights stopped working. Even the Digital readouts, tach, etc. A few 10-15 seconds later they came back on. I'm really confused..

I have owned the car sine April 2013 and it had a PIAA fog light kit connected to it that I removed. However, I only removed the light kit from the front of the car and taped up the electrical wires in the cowl. The PIAA switch inside the car is still active. Is it possible this could be interfering with anything to this degree? I plan on

It doesn't do it all the time.. Maybe once every 3 or 4 days or longer... It could be a coincidence but it seems like when the temperature is hot outside it does it. I haven't had it happen yet while driving in the late afternoons when it is cooler.

I had the battery checked and it is good.

I would look for corroded or rusting electrical components. I had something similar with a Dodge Caravan.

Any chance this could be a BCM issue? Is it located in the passenger kick panel?

Looks like BC1/BCM. Around $500+dealership programming. If you've sunroof, check drains. Water is its worst enemy. If water damaged, some had luck w/ contact cleaning & drying.

This old thread might help.

Dodge dealer charged me $500 to fix the same component in a Dodge Caravan.
