first i want to introduce my self a little and ask a question then...

my name is Ugur,live in Istanbul/Turkey,and i am a MINI fan :smile:

My question is that i own a 2004 MCS,started to mod:i installed a K&N typhoon intake kit.everything is Ok,it runs well accept one thing."the tab on the heat shield"that provided by K&N doesn't hold the battery terminal.Because battery terminal doesn't fit as other parts,soon after i start the engine it losens.Did any one face this problem in this forum.What i have to do?i'v already write a mai to K&N and waiting their answer...

Aloha from Hawaii and welcome to NAM.
The battery terminal is removed from the stock airbox lid and then hooks onto the side of the new Intake box.
Look at this adobe pdf file- download it first and study all of the pictures.

Mine sits on the clip but is not as secure as the factory clip. Is your lose, or does it come off the clip?

BuckeyeMCS, it first loosens and after few km it comes off...
in my opinion the tab length has to be 1cm(0,4inch)longer in order not to come off.All parts of the kit fit perfect other than this,i cannot understand how K&N engineers skip this.

I wonder if you bent the tab in a bit (towards the heat shield)? That might snug it up a bit. Mine has not come off but it is always lose.

as u said it snug up...after i little test drive it did not come off :smile:
but it is lose....
