The radiator fan on my 2010 Cooper is occasionally running for a few minutes after shutoff. A local BMW/Mini repair shop told me this was not normal, that something is wrong, and I should try to have it fixed under warranty.

Any thoughts? It happens rarely, maybe once every couple of days.

If you have an S there is also a little pump that keeps juice flowing to the turbo after shutoff. If the fan is running or shuts off you can hear the pump running.

 

I wish my fan would run after I shut off. My water pump for the turbo runs but never the fan. It has been in the mid 90s here in south La and the hood gets stupid hot.
