Hi All,


First post; have a 2013 JCW Hardtop, manual tranny and have been
looking for two pieces of information:

1) a factory service manual; tried Bentley, but they only go to 2009 or 2011.
Asking MINI and the dealer was a lost cause - you can't buy one.

Not interested in becoming a mechanic, but it's nice to have a
good source of info to do the little stuff - the owner's manual
is virtually worthless as a source for almost anything meaningful.

2) fuel filter - what's the maintenance cycle, how often to change;
location; a how-to change video or doc would be great. Dealer
quoted $512 parts & labor.

Really like the JCW, but trying to get meaningful info from MINI-BMW
and/or the dealer is akin to banging head against wall...unproductive
and painful.

Fuel filters are integrated into the pump assembly and are not serviceable. Sorry for giving bad news

 

And it's not just Mini, many other car manufacturers do this now. Honda switched in 2001.

 

The fuel filter sets on the rear right hand side of the tank. I checked the 2013 and still using that part number.

I'm disappointed that MINI/BMW doesn't offer to the public
a service manual - I was hoping for a Bentley, but nothing beyond
2009 or 2011, I think.

r34king- not a problem , there is not too much info on the Gen 2 R56+ fuel filter. Gen 1 R50 R52 R53 you can find multiple DIY's.
