is my oil pressure too low

I have an 05 MCS. just bought it a couple weeks ago. It has the gauge pack with the oil pressure and oil temperature gauges. at idle its only reading around 7 PSI, at cruising it is around 45 PSI, and goes up a little higher under acceleration. the low oil light has never turned on but I'm thinking that 7 PSI is way lower than it should be. sorry if this has already been discussed. I spent the past few hours searching and couldn't find any answers. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds a little low to me but cars run very light oil these days so it might be ok. Could be the gauge.

The oil pressure on my 2003 MCS and 2006 MCS has always run very low at idle with hot oil. I think the light does not come on until around 3-5 psi. I would not worry about 7 psi at idle. Your cruising oil pressure seems fine.
