A dumb frig backed into my MCS and damaged the back bumper. I was thinkning of getting the aero kit siderails, and thought this might be a good time to use the insurance money to get those and pick up a stock rear bumper. The money I get for the repair will probably cover that. I'm a little scared of the front bumper on the aero kit because it's so low and I'm thinking it might not look so great after it gets smashed against a parking curb! Any thoughts? Any leads on a used chili red stock MCS bumper? Any ideas on where to get that set of aero kit side rails? Am I crazy to worry about the front?

Classic MINI should be able to sell you the parts you want at a good price.

You should consider painting your black plastic wheel arches and trim while you have the body shop doing paint work.

my aero kit front bumper is not that much lower that the stock bumper is. maybe a half inch. and i have never hit a parking block. since the car is so small i find it better to not pull in too far so that people do not think it is an empty space.

I have the aero kit without bumper clearance issue.

If you decide to paint the arches, make sure to sand down the surface. Although it might not be noticeably different with texture on certain color cars, it does look more uniform when all the surfaces are smooth.

MINI now offers painted kit from the dealership, which might be more resistant to rock chipping than a body shop paint job.

They had IB when I took delivery of the car in January. If I remembered correctly, the painted kit costed $600-700 more than the primed one. I would've gotten the painted kit if I wasn't doing the arches and the interior panels.
