2005 transponder

I know there have been a thousand questions about the key, but I cannot find a answer to this question. I have a 2005 and the battery died in one of the fobs. I tried soldering on a new battery, but failed. The key still starts the car. I know that the transponder is in the fob chip. I would like to order a new eBay key and move the transponder over. Is it possible to remove it from the chip?

Yes, you can transfer an immobilizer chip to another key: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...for-cheap.html

How did you conclude that the battery died? Did you already try to reprogram the remote?

I did try to reprogram it, but it did not work. I know I did it properly because I had to do it again to make sure that my good key (which stopped working after the first attempt) and bad key were both done. I also tried leaving it in the ignition and also using it for a while, but it never charged. I've killed the battery location trying to solder... so it's too late to try anything else.
