Missing Part In Engine Bay?

Hey guys, long time lurker and first time poster. Learned many things from this website.

Anyways tried search but cant find it but what am I missing on the top right of my engine bay? (clip sticking out)

I've seen other stock photos where some electronic unit is being held there.

BTW: it's a 2008 Mini Cooper S (Automatic)

If you are mean the nut clip on a tab in the center of your picture, that's where the hood switch is mounted if car is equipped with the alarm system.

The switch is a push button type for the alarm as Blind Dog said. I have the switch and it is also where I have my OCC mounted. Works perfect for that, just remove the clip and use a bolt and nyloc nut.

If you have the MINI alarm system installed stateside, they mount a hood position switch there.

How do you have the switch and an OCC installed there?
