Is this normal?

After installing my methanol kit, I noticed that my initial start up idle is jumpy(and so is the boost reading). I don't know if it has anything to do with the methanol kit since I guess I've not paid close attention prior to this.

Basically during a cold start, the boost gauge will do it's usual sweep and read 10 psi vacuum(so -10), although it usually stays in the -20(or 20 psi vacuum). In addition, the revs seem to go between 700-800. This goes on for 25-30 seconds and then the system settles down. Almost seems that someone's lightly throttling, even though it's just idling. I don't believe it's the cold start issue as there's no abnormal noises and otherwise the MINI runs normally.
