extended warranty ideas ?

I have a 2011 Justa Cooper and a 2010 Cooper S that are both coming up on time to purchase extended warranties. I have the maintenance plan on the 2011. The 2010 has no other warranties.
Im thinking since money is tight of taking my chance with no extended warranty on the 2011 since its normally aspirated and most likely pretty reliable.
I think my best course of action on the 2010 S is to purchase the 100,000 Mini warranty and not the maintenance. I have a local shop that does work on my 2004 mini and they are very qualified and reasonable. I can pay for the maintenance but don't want to have to purchase a new turbo, etc if that breaks.
Just wanted some input from the experts here as to what you would do.
I also have two options on the warranties, MINI or Fidelity. The price on the fidelity plan is about 20 percent cheaper. What do you guys think.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Chuck

I'd take the money you would pay for the warranty and put it into a savings account. Use it only if a repair is needed.

the 2010 S is to purchase the 100,000 Mini warranty
Too many what ifs IMO. So I say yes get it. Some things to fix could be more then the money you spend on the warranty.

+1 for the '10 S. It is peace of mind for now though - there are no guarantees it will pay off in the long run...
Good luck!

How many miles a year do you put on your S? My wife's 2008 Clubman S ran out of warranty last October and since she only puts a couple of thousand miles a year on her car, the extended warranty didn't make sense. If you're putting a lot of miles on it I might recommend one, but if you're like us and only put a few thousand miles a year on it then save your money.
