Curing haze on inside of taillights?

Have searched on 1st Gen "How To" and have yet to see if anyone has removed the tailights and tried to clean off the haze inside by pouring in something like vinegar, WINDEX or Isopropyl alcohol, then drying out with a hairdryer. Surely it can't hurt. Any other idea/s?

I would first check to see if the haze appears to be a coating/residue..or just the plastic discoloring....a q-tip.swab might be a good way to check...
It seems to be the actual plastic on mine that has changed...but a few folks seem to still be clear....so might be due to manufacturing/batch issues.
Removal IS pretty easy, but you MIGHT need to replace the soft foam that is used to seal it to the body when they are re-installed to keep a water-tight seal. If I had to bet money the foam is just some typical low density foam you can get in a home-center with some sticky tape on one side....

I was thinking of doing it, but havent actually done it. The problem is I want to remove some water stains from the inside... I have been thinking of white vinegar with warm water but will have to test it on something else first.

I would just wash them with dawn dish soap and towel dry.Avoid anything with chemicals.

But you can't dry the inside, as it is glued together with the rest of the housing and no towel fits in. So you need something that dries with air and leaves no residues.
