R56 N12 Engine Oil Leak - pic attached
Hi,
I noticed the leak below on my Mini cooper R56 N12 (non S).. wondering if anyone knows where this might be coming from? is it the timing chain covers? tensioner seems like it has a slight leak but doesn't seem like the the main leak is there. I already replaced valve cover gaskets and solenoid gaskets all looks good there..
also does anyone know what that is where I circled in red and what the bolt is for? also whats the plastic cover (yellow circle)

if anyone knows, help would be greatly appreciated

I figured 2 things
1) the red circled bolt holding cylinder head down, I wonder if the cylinder head gasket is what is leaking there?
2) the yellow circle plastic thing is the water pump... I heard those warp because of the plastic housing and replacement is metal? is a leak here common?

you are correct in the naming. also the big bolt is timing chain tentioner.
leakage depends on mileage/age of the part. I think the best thing to do is clean the area and monitor for new/wet spots. you dont want to assume where the leak is coming from and start chasing based on an assumption.
