It's the oil filter housing gaskets. We have just started to see them, so we started to stock that set. It's an easy swap at the point your at. You will also get coolant out of the car at this point also. HAVE A PAN READY.

remove the three bolts, remove gaskets, clean up everything, add new gaskets, reinstall bolts. tighten to 7-9 ft lbs. i don;t have a link but the i think the gasket is 20 bucks. you need #5.

resurrecting this thread..

never got around to fixing the housing seal because when it warmed up the leak went away.
now thats its cold again the leak is back and now leaking way more than before...

i came across a thread (its from another mini site/forum so i dont know if i'm allowed to put a link) that stated you should change the entire housing because the leak is from the housing warping and not really the seals.

has anyone just changed the seals and have this fixed the problem?

I just did the seals. Fixed the issue. Make sure you clean the area of oil residue and coolant and then bolt it back together with a new gasket set. I did an oil change afterwards and add more coolant / re-bleed the air out of the coolant system. To make sure things are clean.

#5 in the picture, that goes against the block, they seep a little bit when the engine is hot.

I also would recommended checking the oil return line ( connects to the housing then to the turbo ) and the oil feed line ( on the engine and connects to the side of the housing. Since you are down there. Oil return line leaks from the top, and oil feed line leaks up near the turbo. While you are there.
