Ford Focus evidently have same Getrag 6-speed with 04 and earlier R53 - at least some parts like shift forks, synchromashes, and bearings. However Ford is not selling rebuild kit just like MINI, so its a Getrag thing.
Found a thread over at MA a guy worked with a helpful local shop, and he came up with some P/Ns. I think as the gearing ratios are different pre and post facelift the synchromashes are not interchangeable. I've done gearbox in high school days. Not difficult, just can be PITA if you don't have the right tools to drive pins out, and remove snap rings. And I had no money, except time and will.
