Push Start W/ Comfort Access Error

Just got back my Clubman S after 6 days in service. The troubles started over a month ago when I noticed the push button start would not work as usual. I have comfort access. My first thought was to switch the battery in the Key Fob. When that didn't work I called my service guy who offered a code to try on the fob. I did as he said, inserting the key into the slot and removing then holding the lock button while pressing the unlock button 3X. At first this did not work but after trying multiple times it finally did. All was good for several days when the problem happened again. I tried the code again and after several attempts it worked. A few days later same problem. So now I make an appointment with MINI service and after sitting there for 2 hours they give me a loaner and tell the problem needs time. There solution was to replace some cable they felt had breaks in it after trying some other part replacements as well. The problem appeared fixed and I was told to come and pick it up. Well you guessed it, not even 2 days later same problem. Has anyone ever had this problem and if so what was the fix?

Yes! It took two tries at the dealer each lasting a week but they did nail it down to a crimped wire under the gear shifter that they claim was a factory install error. It is now working fine.
