Strange noise at high RPMS
I recently completed the first 1200 miles on my MCS. I have been working up the revs toward the redline gradually. Lastnight I thought I heard a strange noise at about 5500 RPM. It sounded as if it was under the shifter. I tried it again slowly increasing the revs. Again, right at 5500 RPM I stared to hear the noise. It sounded almost like when we were kids and put a playing card into our bicycle spokes. That or a piece of tape flapping pretty fast, but slow enough to hear a distinct flap, flap, flap. I tired it again today, and it seems to require more RPM (like 5800 RPM) before it starts and it's smoother.
Nothing seems wrong otherwise.
Any ideas?

Glad you figured it out...we've all had "D'Oh" moments like that.
That being said, I've only noticed two strange noises at high RPMs...
1) a buzzing in some door panels at certain, specific RPMs.
2) a high-pitched alternating whine, always accompanied my multi-colored flashing lights.

If I shift quickly, sometimes my passenger will ask "why does your shifter sound so clanky?" I chuckle, point to the ashtray: "not the shifter, it's the coins" Usually a slight blushing of the passenger follows
