Week before last I had my Inspection #1 completed at 31,700 plus miles. Next day I noticed that the auto CC was whacked. I have to go back tomorrow for some parts that they had to order, and it's scheduled to be checked then.

Prior to v36 when the temp was set at HI and the car started the fan would initially spool-up then immediately drop in speed until the temp came up.

Post v36, the darn thing blasts at warp 9 regardless of engine/heater core temp. And yes I know that I can turn it off until temps rise, but that defeats the purpose of auto climate control.

TIA

Smokey,

I lost a number of my programmed features after being upgraded to V36.

Lost Follow-me Home Lights
Lost Auto Unlock on Engine Off

I forget what the other one was at the moment. I have not noticed any change in my CC system, however.

See ya,
JS

Thanks JS,

I didn't have the auto lock so I also didn't have the unlock.

Off to check the follow-me home feature now

Thanks

I think when a new software version is installed, it may have over-written all the vehicle programming options you've set before...... So you need to go back to your dealer and have them re-program everything back to the way it was.

I haven't lost any of the other features, I don't have a lot of them activated in the first place, but those that I have are working fine.
Follow-me home lights = A-OK
All doors unlock with one press of the key fob = A-OK
Hold door unlock on key fob, all windows and sunroof open = A-OK

It's only the fan speed that is TU, they have ordered a new control, so only time will tell if this is the cure. Hard to believe that it failed on its own.

It's certainly not inconceivable that your dealer may have screwed up your programmable options while upgrading the DME, but this is generally NOT something that happens. I, for example, have had my software upgraded 3 times (lastly with CD 36, the German version, back in December) and never has this had any impact on my options. I have follow-me-home lights ENABLED, and several other non-default options set. So, I think it's as smokey states...his ACC is just coincidentally busted.

I lost my "convenience open"--hold down unlock on keyfob, sunroof/windows open.

Not only that, but when I went back to the dealer, they told me my car had never had it...that that feature wasn't available for a few months during my cars production. They pulled up a Dealer Service Notice to "prove" it to me...

so I had been dreaming all that time before v36 that had it

Different people HAVE lost functions after v36..there was a thread on this in Dec or Jan...I'll see if I can find it...

Also, here's a list of the programmable options from a previous thread....I don't think climate control is programmable, so hopefully you do just need a replacement!

I don't think it's a given that Vehicle Memory settings are "overwritten" when your software is updated to v36. I had no troubles with mine. However, if you're heading in for any software changes, ask that all of your VM setting are confirmed before you leave the dealer. It's possible that this happens due to a sloppy update.
