heater core on fire

heater core on fire

hi i have a 2003 mini with 83k just replaced the heater core because it was leaking and now no more leaks but the new heater core gets so hot u cant keep you right leg near it anybody have any suggestions

Make sure you have bleed the system correctly.

I was thinking just move your leg, but daflake's suggestion was probably more helpful. :-)

Set the temp control to lo if you have auto temp....it may seem if the fan is off, you have the heat off...but to really shut it off (with auto heat in my experance) the temp controler must be set to lo or min, then the fan turned off....
