A/C Line wear from Sway Bar
A/C Line wear from Sway Bar
Anyone encounter this problem? One of the A/C hose/line crimped connection is being worn by the sway bar and causing it to leak. Anyone else heard of this issue?
There is about 1/2" clearance b/w the hose and bar when the car sits normal. Seems like under hard hits that the hose is making contact with the bar.
Just wondering if anyone else has heard of this? Going to buy the hose tomorrow and replace it. (have a friend that can evac it).

Yeah I finally took mine up to the dealer (A/C lost pressure during a drive last year) to have them tell me I rubbed a hole in the hose (not sure the location atm) but they quoted close to $800 to replace.
Yes I was lowered on KW3s I checked for rubbing the best I could but obliviously missed it.

Did the repair myself. Had a friend evac it, changing the hose took all of an hour, then had my friend recharge. Start to finish 2 hrs. Part was $110 from Momentum Mini in Houston (they matched online prices). If you can get someone to charge it, its a simple fix.
Just remove the wheel & wheel well liner and you have access to the connection. Top connection is behind the airbox after you remove it.
Def saved myself $600+ by doing it in a couple hrs.
