low beam trouble indicator
Actually, the light indicator means to check ALL EXTERIOR bulbs; rear, front, side, license plate area... everywhere.
The ECU see a bulb burned out; find and replace and the warning will be removed.

All the bulbs are working. I had a different warning light come on when a bulb did go out in the past.
I did some research and found this problem is a service bulletin recorded as 'TSB SIM630110:Check Control Message but Lights are Operating Normally.'
However I was unable to find the solution to this service bulletin, anyone have this experience with the fix?

Sounds like it could be as easy as a module reflash / reprogramming.

The TSB paper work states:
So it definitely sounds like a programming issue if they are telling them to code the repair.
Refer to the KSD2 to code the repair performed as prescribed by ISTA diagnosis results and the Warranty
Policy and Procedures Manual for specific warranty coverage.

For me, I took it to the dealer and they said it's the computer system fault since mine doesn't have any fog lights. They updated it to the latest and the warning light was gone. Mine was little shy to 50k and they did it free with warranty. They said it would cost $300 if out of warranty. Is it true?
I finally made it to MINI Copper. LONG DRIVE! Turns out there is a service bulletin on the R56 causing the low beam indicator light to come on. On the way down a new indicator came on - yellow window with exclamation point and the windows stopped working. Then they wouldn't go back up that last fraction of an inch when I opened the door. All a part of that service bulletin. Reprogramming car now...which apparently takes a few hours. At least I got in right under the warranty expiration.

Well this makes sense - computer reprogramming. Thanks to everyone on this post since I was pulling my hair out trying to understand how to fix this problem. Since I'm way out of warranty, I'll defer the reprogramming and just continue to clear the error. I'm sure it will appear in time for my annual inspection though. :-)

Any help solving this issue would be helpful. I used the stalk control and eventually got it to give me CC-ID 138 as the error code.
new 2010 mini clubman owner here and I’ve got the same warming light, no warranty. Is there a way to fix it?
Hello, I know this is an old thread, but how exactly are you "clearing" this error? Both my OBD2 scanners are not picking it up. Granted they are both budget readers. If you unplug battery for an hour will this warning light reset?
